The Rev. Joe Dewey

Fr. Joe is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He attended the University of Virginia, where he studied in History and played lacrosse, participating on the 2006 NCAA championship team. More importantly, at UVA he met and fell in love with the love of his life, Becca. The two were married in 2010 and now have three children: Denton, Louis, and Florence. Fr. Joe has served in several different ministry settings, including campus ministry at UVA, youth ministry in urban St. Louis, and church planting in Brooklyn, New York. Immediately prior to becoming the rector at Christ Church, Fr. Joe served as the Vicar of Church of the Incarnation in Dallas.

He graduated with honors and holds theological degrees at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis and Princeton Seminary in New Jersey. He maintains special academic interests in church history and political theology. On a personal level, Fr. Joe is an avid outdoorsman with a love for fly-fishing, rock climbing and hiking. He and Becca love to travel, cook, and host people around their table.
